About Us‎ > ‎Meeting Minutes‎ > ‎2016‎ > ‎

The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by President Durachko.  In attendance were members Andy Cobaugh, Dave Felice, Hunter Robertson, Johnathan White, Cody Martin, Dan Durachko, Andy Richards, Tom Milton, Steve Dillon, Sue Hochreiter, Melvin Shuey, and Tom Canich.

November meeting minutes were reviewed.  Cody Martin moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Dave Felice; the motion carried.

The Treasurer reported we made a number of payments for bills, for work on RDC #9167, and Fall Foliage refund payments.  Most of the issued Fall Foliage refund checks have been cashed.  We also reimbursed Dan and Tracey for postage supplies.  The PayPal balance has been cleared to our checking account.  The PayPal account has zero balance but remains open at the no-cost level.  We received some income from AmazonSmile.  Eventbrite will release funds to our checking account within 5 days of the end of the Santa Express event.  Andy Cobaugh moved to accept the report, seconded by Dave Felice; the motion carried.

An RDC inspection trip is planned for Friday, December 9.  We are awaiting pricing on a replacement for the B-end starter.  We will provide a spare 48V starter motor during the inspection visit in hopes it is suitable.  The A-end starter motor had bad brushes and the contractor made repairs.  The A-end is now fully operational.  The contractor encountered problems with bleeding the baseboard water heaters due to corroded valves.  The arrangement of the fireman's heater defrost duct arrangement was resolved.  The voltage regulator problems on A-end followed the regulator when swapped to the B-end.  We will provide a spare from #9153.  Andy Cobaugh will make contact with Bill Gilman to discuss A/C options.  The specifications and operation of the original system are not fully understood.

Steve Dillon acquired a BINGO cage and supplies for use by BHRS.

Jeff Pontius requests information about who is planning to bring food for the Santa Express trains.  This is an effort to avoid feast/famine situations.

Andy Cobaugh will email ticket holders prior to the ride date.  The email will ask them to bring a printed copy of their ticket or install the Eventbrite program on their phone or tablet.  Scanning tickets will be secondary to a visual inspection and boarding.  Andy Richards will print 2000 red and green undated souvenir tickets to hand out to riders.  A volunteer signup sheet will be distributed via email.  Dan will work on easels with rules and rider information.  Andy Richards will contact Long Bus and the Bellefonte School District about shuttle service and parking.  We expect shuttles to cost about $1,200.

Cody Martin moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Andy Cobaugh; the motion carried.  Meeting adjourned 8:20 PM.
