About Us‎ > ‎Meeting Minutes‎ > ‎2018‎ > ‎

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Tom Canich.  In attendance were members Gene Tucker, Cody Martin, "G4", Andy Cobaugh, Tracey Besemer, Tom Milton, Jonathan White, Hunter Robertson, Steve Dillon, Dan Durachko, and Steve Wagner.

Secretary Canich presented September meeting minutes for approval.  Gene moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Cody; the motion carried.

No Treasurer's report was available.

Webmaster Cobaugh reported 2,073 hits in the past month.  Sales for Fall Foliage are on pace with 2017.  Ads are being aired on WPSU and an increase in traffic is expected.

We've not had an update from RMS regarding the RDC.  Andy C. will follow up with Chris.  We discussed contacting NBER about possible use of the engine house for storage of #9167 to prevent vandalism when the car is returned.

Gene is organizing a work part in Lemont for November 3.  He is also planning some work days in advance and will share those as plans firm up.  The plan is to distribute ties and de-spike existing ties in advance.  He expects 6x8 ties will be sufficient for our expected use and will get a quote for 15 ties at an estimated $40 each.  Cody moved to spend up to $600 for ties, seconded by Tracey; the motion carried.

DSLE Dillon reminded the group that rules classes are scheduled for October 9, 11, 16, and 18.  Class is required for all operating positions.  Extra rulebooks will be available.  Contact him to sign up.

Fall foliage candy and decorations have been purchased.  Tracey is lining up Halloween characters.  Andy C. will distribute a sign-up sheet for car hosts.  Hunter will look into distributing the flyer.  6 PM Halloween is nearly sold out at this point.  Sayers and Tyrone are also selling well.

Cody brought a link from an old link and pin couple to share with the group.  Steve W. brought historic photos of Lemont.  We had a discussion about the L&T railroad and related topics.

No word on the signal to be donated by Norfolk-Southern.  It is expected later this year or early in 2019.

Tracey moved to adjourn, seconded by Cody; the motion carried.
Meeting adjourned 7:40 PM.
