Repairs get started on 9167.
Work is finally underway to restore RDC 9167.  Recently the car was relocated (by NBER) to a siding at the old Cerro facility, now Titan Energy Park.  Rail Mechanical Services of Columbia, PA will use the siding as a work area to disassemble the under body components of the car and prepare it for a move by highway to their facility in Columbia.

The engines, trucks and other components will be trucked down and the car body itself will be lifted onto special highway bogies for the move.  Current plans call for the car to be disassembled here, then moved by rail to the siding for Blazer Enterprises, between Julian and Wingate, PA.  On Monday the 15th, a crane will lift the car onto it's highway wheels and the car will be on it's way.  We expect the car to return to Bellefonte, in the Summer of 2015, on rail, via Norfolk Southern and the Nittany and Bald Eagle RR.

BHRS crews completed the replacement of all 22 passenger compartment windows earlier this week, and all those windows are now FRA compliant and clear to see out of!  The cab windows will be replaced by RMS as a part of the restoration project.  We look forward to the return of RDC 9167 to service by the end of 2015!
